Crown Place, University of Liverpool

Providing a first class student experience

Crown Place is a new 1,259-bed student accommodation facility located on Brownlow Hill in the centre of Liverpool University’s city campus. The project continues the University’s strategy to replace its stock of student residential accommodation and provides a first class student experience.

Gleeds provided cost management services on the project which was constructed on the site previously occupied by the School of Veterinary Sciences. The development is made up of 3 main buildings which include a number of retail units, catering and sports facilities, large social spaces, laundry rooms and an undercroft car park.

Keeping the city moving

Before the demolition of the old site, we worked closely with the University design team to ensure a smooth and safe relocation of the Veterinary Science block to its new facility. The site itself was in close proximity to rail tunnels and we had to work closely with Network Rail to ensure delays were managed and kept to a minimum. Our careful planning and strategy meant that the project was completed on time and in budget.
