Gleeds Birmingham expands project management division

Gleeds has announced its merger with local project management firm, Novus. The recruitment of the business’ managing director, Chris Hill, is the second senior appointment Gleeds has made within three months.

Chris brings with him considerable project management experience, having been heavily involved with local industry for more than ten years prior to setting up his own consultancy business two years ago. He will be joined by Novus project manager, Andrea Deeming, who has been appointed to oversee Gleeds’ construction schemes with Marks & Spencer.

Chris will assume responsibility for continuing the expansion of Gleeds’ portfolio of project management services across multiple sectors following the recent delivery of the Barclaycard Arena, as well as schemes for Trebor Developments, Crown Transformation and Severn Trent. He will also act as project director for phases two and three of the landmark Beorma development, to which Gleeds was appointed this month.

Lindsay McCombe, director for Gleeds in the West Midlands, commented: “We are delighted that Chris and Andrea have agreed to come onboard to deepen the strength and capability of our project management offering. We have worked together in the past when Gleeds cost managed works at the NEC, Barclaycard and Genting Arenas, so over the years we’ve developed a great working relationship.”

In June, Gleeds appointed Stephen Crichton as a director for project management and announced that its Birmingham operation has expanded by 20% in the last 12 months.
