We're reaffirming our commitment to a data-driven future with the launch of the Gleeds Data Academy. Utilising the apprenticeship levy, we will work in partnership with Projecting Success to upskill staff from a range of disciplines in data methodologies and project data analytics.
With an industry-wide shortage of people equipped with the skills to apply data science in a project delivery environment, the Academy will offer a host of training opportunities for employees who wish to expand their knowledge base. Tech firm Projecting Success will deliver the 12-month Data Analyst Level 4 Apprenticeship training for at least ten team members this year, with eight having already started the pilot scheme.
The course will offer participants on-the-job experience, project focused training, and the chance to get involved in the project data analytics community through regular meet-ups and ‘hackathons’. Gleeds has been an active sponsor and participant at these events throughout 2021, providing a platform to inspire others, recruit new staff and seed innovation across the business. The program will also introduce and consolidate the apprentice’s understanding of Python Coding, Microsoft Azure, machine learning and AI, alongside other fundamental aspects of the field of data analytics.
As well as the full apprenticeship, we've devised a series of shorter courses with Projecting Success for those who want to enhance their data capabilities without committing to a long-term program. The business will be running five one-day courses, entitled ‘What is Project Data Analytics?’ which will benefit around 70 employees, in addition to a number of introductory seminars to be run during lunchbreaks in its offices up and down the country.
By empowering our team to develop their data capabilities we hope to drive greater efficiencies and ultimately increase the predictability of project outcomes for our clients. The feedback we’ve received from staff who have begun their learning with the Data Academy would certainly attest to that. The skills they’re gaining are already being applied to real life situations, transforming the way that the business operates for the better. James Garner, head of data, insights and analytics at Gleeds
I am absolutely thrilled to be collaborating with Gleeds on the launch and delivery of its Data Academy. I’ve seen first-hand how the team are transforming the business and reinventing how they work; data driven project delivery presents us all with an inevitable and hugely exciting future and Gleeds is ahead of the curve. The Academy will enable the business to accelerate the deployment of skills and new ways of thinking, with far reaching implications for clients and their supply chain.
