We built the best for less.
Gleeds was appointed as cost manager on central Europe’s largest construction project, Eurovea.
On completion, this multifunctional complex won several awards, including best overall development.
A new city quarter for Bratislava
Designed as a new commercial and social heart for the city, Eurovea combines restaurants, bars, shops, offices and hotels, with plenty of new public space.
TripAdvisor is full of rave reviews from people who have enjoyed its new square, shopping centre, park, terraces and promenade that line the Danube’s north bank. The river’s waters also provide cooling for Eurovea’s buildings.
The best brands
Its 60,000m² mall, Eurovea Galleria, contains 150 stores, 30 cafés, bars and restaurants as well as a 9-screen Palace Cinemas multiplex. Tenants include Peek & Cloppenburg, Marks & Spencer, Debenhams and H&M.
A better way to share information
It’s always a challenge to share information across large and diverse teams.
To help deliver Eurovea on time and on budget, we used our Web-based document management system, Information Channel. Developed in partnership with BIW Technologies, it helped reduce mistakes, promote teamwork and provide transparency. In all, the system managed 55,901 logins to access 37,103 shared documents.
Every year, the magazine for property, investment and real estate development in Central and Eastern Europe, CIJ, holds awards recognising the regions’ best work. In 2010, an international jury awarded Eurovea:
- Best overall development
- Best office development, for Eurovea Central
- Best residential development, for Eurovea Apartments
- Best shopping centre development, for Eurovea Galleria
Its developer, Ballymore Group, also won developer of the year. We’re proud to have played such an important role in helping deliver this stunning project to the city of Bratislava.
